Tue, 24 July 2007 The Gospel makes sense of the fourth commandment: "Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy," because in it Jesus is proclaimed as Lord of the Sabbath. He is Lord of Rest -- the one who in His unrest on the cross has done all of the work for us. In Him, "It is finished," and God looks upon us and says, "It is very good." Only in Jesus do we find our soul's true rest -- only in Him can we then practice Sabbath. Comments[0] |
